How can I create more site traffic on my website?

Please help. This is a new site that I have created. I am trying get more site traffic however I am not sure how to do that. Can someone please help me?

Getting traffic to a website (especially one that's new) is not easy. You can either go the organic, free way (search engine optimization, social bookmarking submissions, setting up blogs, posting to forums, seeking high PR backlinks), or use Pay-Per-Click advertising (Google AdWords, MSN, Yahoo, etc.)

Learning the most you can about website traffic and promotion would be a first step. Just because you built it, doesn't mean they will come.

Well the traffic isnt going to come overnight. It really does take a lot of work no matter what to get traffic to your sight.

So much depends on how much time you are willing to spend.

It seems too many people want to throw up a website and the traffic will just magically appear.

Now my partner and I run about 15 differant sites in one way or another and most of the time at least 10 of them are on page one on google.

Do you think this brings traffic? You bet it does.
